Under a new arrangement with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee, the Cambrian Alliance Group is supplying contractor purchasing data for products priced above Drug Tariff to help secure price concessions each month, where appropriate.
Cambrian's e-CASS stock ordering and buying platform is now providing automated weekly reports to PSNC of generic purchases made by Alliance members above Drug Tariff prices across a range of suppliers, saving contractors time from having to submit individual reports.
Nathan Wiltshire, Cambrian's group CEO, said: “Community pharmacy continues to be placed under huge financial strain and anything we can do to support fairer and more accurate reimbursement to avoid contractors dispensing at a loss is a key priority for us.
"We are pleased to be able to provide additional data to the PSNC on behalf of our 900+ e-CASS customers.”
The e-CASS platform already automatically blocks orders that are placed above the Tariff price, allowing contractors to exercise greater levels of control and influence with regards to how they manage orders.
